FIELD NOTES

A better photo makes a better first take.

Practical field notes for short product films, from choosing a source photo to checking a finished clip.

Prepare the source

Use one clear product with a visible silhouette. Choose a sharp, well-lit photo at least1024pixels on its longest side. Keep the package closed and the label facing the camera. Remove visual clutter before uploading.

Choose a believable move

Start with a slow push for the whole package, a light sweep for a finish, or a small drift for texture. Ask for one action in one continuous shot. Big rotations can invent the back of your product.

Compose for the destination

Landscape works well beside product details. Portrait makes more room for vertical placements. Choose the native format before rendering; a crop can cut off the product or shrink a label.

Review first,middle and last frames

Compare silhouette, cap, label text, color and materials with the original. Watch the whole clip for flicker or shape changes. If an important product fact changes, choose another take instead of treating it as accurate footage.

Export with context

Download the MP4 and keep your original photo. Check the destination’s current size and advertising rules. Add your real offer or captions in your usual editor; never infer product claims from an AI image.
